Because search engines list their results from your link popularity, SEO positioning should be your number one strategy for high pagerank.

SEO Tip #1

When utilizing an aggressive linking campaign, don't start linking into multiple domain networks which are all hosted on the same server or buying a series of links hosted within a single IP addresses. What your website needs are natural links that will be gained over a period of time. One of the best ways to achieve this is to comment on do-follow blogs (not spamming, but commenting on a few per day) where your website link is naturally growing.

SEO Tip #2

The pagerank quality of those sites you want to link to you must appear natural to the search engines. Be careful to not only link to sites with a high page rank of 8 or 9. You should also seek links from a good range of sites with both high and low page rank values. This is especially the case for new sites and submitting articles to the various article directories will achieve this.

SEO Tip #3

Try looking at your link campaign from a purely scientific view. Basically, you need to find out what the visitors to your site are searching for and then find out which phrases convert to sales and then target your link text towards these visitors. Once you have determined your highest value phrases, you then apply those phrases in the anchor text you request from your link partners. Using this method allows you to request links based on the highest Return Of Investment (ROI), as well as appearing natural to the search engine spiders.

By applying the strategies above, you will attain a linking campaign that is both relevant and highly targeted to your main search phrases. Link quality is far more important than link quantity and anchor text is more important than pagerank.

Keyword stuffing of a web page.

Keyword stuffing is the deliberate beefing up of particular phrases in the content of the web page. It is a search engine optimization technique for any adult web site promotion. History of keyword stuffing The keyword stuffing has made history more for its abuses than for its uses. It was used as a bait to hook more and more traffic onto its web page, in an attempt to ethically or unethically shovel up the rankings of the websites.
Consider some instances-

* keyword stuffers used to hide the irrelevant keywords, by coloring it same as the web page background, making the search a mountain out of a mole hill.
* The more intellectual web designers infested their contents with most coveted words like 'sex' even it had far anything to do with that pretext.
* Some stuffing freaks did this art ad nauseam, as such at the end of the day there were more keywords on the web page than its contents and the web page looked more of an American tattooed pattern.

Then one day, all of a sudden leading search engine websites like Google and Msn , came down heavily on these practices and specified their norms to keyword stuffing , failing which the web designers would be nabbed and their website banned for ever.
These guidelines -

* Squashed the practice of ratings based on the frequency of the keywords.

In contrary it made way for themed related keywords that have something to do with the content of the website.

* Specified the degree to which any keyword can be impregnated, and also the positions where they are to be stuffed.

A stuffing of up to 10% in major headings, first paragraph, ending and sparsely distributed in the middle is desirable for any adult website promotion. A word of caution It is highly recommended for adult web marketing that stuffers do stick to the basics, as the search engine sites employ sophisticated tools like the keyword density analyzers and by no means, will a machine understand that you were by any way unintentional.

Search Engine Optimizer

Search engine optimization requires a good search engine optimizer strategy. A search engine optimizer can come in the form of many different things. A search engine optimizer is a tool, strategy or technique used to optimize your website. Search engine optimization has often times gotten misconstrued to have several different meanings and definitions. Search engine optimization is simply the process of providing search engines with the most accurate and clean cut website format to make it easiest for them to tell exactly what you would like to be ranked for in their search engines. Provided below is the top search engine optimizers:

Title: The title tag is your most important on-site search engine optimization tactic and it's the most easiest to manipulate. The title tag in your website is provided for you to let search engines know what your website is about. One of the most common mistakes website owners and internet marketers make is mis-labeling their title tag. An example of a mislabeled title tag is as follows: Let's say for example there is a website that sells dog toys. Their website is dogtoysrus.com. An improper title tag would be: dogtoysrus.com. A proper title tag would be: Dog Toys: Dogtoysrus. By writing their main keyword phrase in their title tag and at the beginning of the title tag, this lets search engines know that this website wants to be ranked when searches type in the keyword phrase dog toys.

Keywords: When creating a website, you also have the opportunity to input keywords into your meta data. The keywords give search engines even more info about what your website is about and what keywords you would like your website to appear under in search engines. Be careful though. Many websites keyword stuff, meaning they add tons of keywords. This is ineffective, because search engines view this as spam and it could cause your website to be de-indexed permanently so do not do this.

The Marketing Plan: After you've done the two easiest search engine optimizer techniques, you are ready to move on to your marketing plan to further boost your search engine rankings. Inputing a title tag and keywords into your website help you get indexed, but they don't help you get ranked in search engines. If you truly want the floodgates of traffic to flow your direction, you need to make sure you have a marketing plan that works and provides you with what search engines want to see the most which is backlinks, backlinks, backlinks.

Backlinks are the backbone of credibility in the world of search engines. The number and quality of the backlinks you have determine your ranking in search engines for keywords. Here is how it all works…

When other websites link back to your website with an anchor texted backlink, this lets search engines know that other websites like you because they are linking back to you and therefore the search engines assume your website must be important, relevant, and popular.

The easiest, quickest, and most effective strategy to get one-way anchor texted backlinks is through article marketing. Article marketing is by far the most effective search engine optimizer. With article marketing, you write articles and submit them to article directories. By writing articles for article directories, they allow you to add up to 3 anchor texted backlinks in your author bio box. This is great because, instead of waiting around and hoping for other websites to link back to you, you can get backlinks guaranteed through article marketing.

I hope this article has helped you and given you some information about search engine optimizer you were not aware of prior to reading this article. This article has barely scratched the surface though. I've written tons of in depth info on my site and I've created several videos proving article marketing works. It's not. Six years ago when I first started running website business ventures, I was under the impression that search engine optimization was an expensive process only available to businesses with big budgets. I foolishly decided instead of pursuing search engine optimization, I would market my online business offline. It was a complete flop. Here's the reason why, the great thing and major purpose of marketing a website online is to convert prospects to your website easier, faster, and with a higher conversion rate. It's very difficult to get people to remember your website when advertising offline. Not to mention, most people don't walk around with a computer on them so they can't go to your website immediately.

I babbled on about that experience to hopefully inspire you to have confidence in free search engine optimization. If you want to optimize your website for free, article marketing is the best way to go. Article marketing has proven itself to be quite effective. It's effective for me personally as well as for my clients. Article marketing is not exactly a close kept secret of mine. Many internet marketers use article marketing to get immediate traffic to their website, get, maintain, and keep one-way anchor texted backlinks, and optimize their website for the search engines.

Article marketing requires three small steps to success and they are as follows:

Step 1: Find Keywords

Keywords are the most important step in any search engine optimization campaign or strategy. You will need to find keywords that you would like your website to appear in search engines for. I use seobook.com. They have a free keyword tool that allows you to type a broad keyword phrase and it gives you 100 narrowed keywords.

Step 2: Write Articles

Now that you have your keywords, you need to begin writing your articles. There are some very important things to keep in mind when writing articles. When writing articles be sure you are not rambling on about your product, service, or site. This is irritating for the reader and article directories will reject the article and ban you from their directory. When writing articles make sure you provide value and give people information they otherwise may not have known. Quality is key. If you need an example just look at the style and format of this article you are reading now. I'm not outright soliciting my site. I'm providing you with what I believe to be important and beneficial information. (at least I think it is)

Step 3: Submit Articles

Now this is the fun and also dreadful part. Submitting articles can be a pain because it takes so long. It can take up to 10 hours just to submit 5 articles depending on how many directories you submit to. One the subject of directories, I recommend submitting to at least 100 - 200 article directories. This provides maximum backlinking and search engine optimization benefits.

I hope this article about free search engine optimization has been beneficial for you.

SEO Tips - 4 Deadly SEO Mistakes You Must Avoid

Are you getting mediocre results from SEO? If yes, this article is for you. To achieve success with SEO, you must target the right key phrases and build links consistently. It is a continuous process - not a one-time effort.

With this in mind, let us take a look at the 4 deadly SEO mistakes that you must avoid at all cost. These are the mistakes that many optimizers made that prevent them from getting successful results:

1. You do not tag your pages with relevant key phrases. This is the most common mistake that many webmasters made. I believe you have seen websites that place only their company names in their Title tags. Title tags are words that appear on the top left hand side of your Internet browser. You must place keywords in your Title tag because search engines give a lot of weight to it. The title tag is like the Title of a book. It tells readers what the book is about. Likewise, the title tag tells search engines what your website is about. If you are trying to get higher rankings for a keyword but it is not present in your title tag, it is very hard for search engines to award you with high rankings. Therefore, make sure that your title tag describes the content of your page and place important keywords right at the front of it.

2. You do not have enough content or your content is outdated. SEO is more than just tagging your pages. You need to have enough content for search engines to read. To rank high on search engine listings, you must place keywords in your content. Moreover, if your website content is outdated, search engines will visit your site less often, and thus view it as less important. This also prevents your site from getting higher rankings in search engine listings.

3. You optimize the wrong keywords. If you are trying to optimize keywords that are too generic, it is very hard for you to achieve success from your SEO effort. This is because you will get yourself into a more competitive battlefield with other optimizers. So, spend some time to do your research and look for key phrases with lesser competition but relevant to your business. Remember that if you optimize keywords that are not relevant or too generic, even if you achieve high rankings for them, there will be no conversion.

4. You do not build link consistently. Link building is a process of getting more incoming links to your website. Quality inbound links will help your website to achieve higher rankings for competitive keywords. But link building is a continuous process. If you never do it consistently, you will not achieve good result from SEO. So, always build links consistently by using article marketing, blog commenting, directory submissions, and other common strategies that optimizers are using.

These are the 4 deadly SEO mistakes that you must avoid at all cost. Good luck!

6 Ways to Get Your Site Indexed By Today

If your website is not indexed by search engines, it will not appear on the search engine listings. Therefore, when your website is live, the first thing you must do is to let the search engines notice your website and index it. In this article, let me share with you 5 ways to get your site indexed by today:

1. Submitting a XML sitemap to search engines. The xml sitemap includes links to every page of your website. It is a file that you can submit to search engines to get your pages indexed. By submitting your xml sitemap, you will notify the search engines about your website and index every page of it. You can upload your sitemap to Google by creating a free Google Webmaster account.

2. Create a HTML sitemap page on your website. A HTML sitemap is very different from a xml sitemap file. A HTML sitemap is a page on your website that is visible to your visitors. It will list down all the links to every page of your site. This allows visitors to navigate your site easily and allow search engine spiders to follow the links and discover all pages.

3. Place HTML text links on your website. Search engine spiders follow HTML text links to discover other pages of your website. Therefore, you must ensure that you use HTML text links for simple navigation menu so that search engine spiders can follow. Also, you should hyperlink keywords within your content and point them to other pages of your site. This is a good way to tell search engines what pages are important.

4. Directory submission. Submit your website URL to a list of SEO-friendly directories. DMOZ, Yahoo Directory and BOTW are important directories that you must submit your website to. It is, however, not all directory submission is free. Some may require you to pay a small fee for your website submission.

5. Article marketing. Write articles and place your website URL in the Author Resource Box. Then submit your articles to a few popular article directories. Once your articles are approved and published, your URL will be live online and this allows search engine spiders to follow the link to discover your website.

6. Using social websites. Social media sites are generally indexed regularly by search engines. So by placing your website URL on social sites, search engines spiders can discover your URL very quickly and index your new website.

Before a website can rank high and get organic search engine traffic, it needs to be indexed first. Search engine spiders are looking for new websites and pages every day. By getting a link on sites that get indexed regularly, it will ensure that your new website get indexed quickly.

Increase your online presence through search engine optimization

With the millions of people around the globe now surfing the internet, companies are now looking at this occurrence as a great marketing opportunity. Since people at present are also using the convenience of the internet as a medium for shopping, it became essential for marketers and companies to have a good online presence. If more people know of and go to your site, then chances are more people would be buying from them. And not just on one's locality, the internet boom also enabled companies to tap the international market. And thus, international search engine optimization has recently been at the forefront of most online marketing strategies.

And so for your company to utilize and profit from the internet's marketing potential, your company's site should be optimized to fare well in the search results of major search engines like Yahoo, Google and MSN. And this is where a search engine optimization specialist can help you out. There are several business website promotion service providers that do search engine optimization for any kind of site. Usually comprised of search engine optimization experts, these providers can help your site be at the top results on major search engines.

One thing to note about website promotion services is that there are no generalized site optimization strategies. By consulting a search engine optimization specialist, you can plot and conceptualize solid and unique online marketing strategies that can lead to better page rankings for your site. As we said earlier, the more people see and visit your site, the greater are the chances for your products to be sold and your profits to increase.

Speaking of profits, consulting with an SEO specialist shouldn't cost your company an arm and leg. With the tough economical times, people naturally look for more value for money. And that is what you should also be gunning for: economical search engine optimization. But low price doesn't mean low-quality; so you should also ensure quality work and impressive results at less the cost.

SEO specialists nowadays can handle all types of websites for optimization. Whether it's for a clothes retail site, a gaming site or you need real estate search engine optimization, just let them handle it. Most people think that they know which keywords they should target. Instinct can be a great resource, but it can also be misleading and is almost always not enough. For example, "search engine optimization" gets an estimated 16,000 searches a day while "search engine marketing" gets an estimated 8,800 searches a day. If your gut tells you to target "search engine marketing", you may get great rankings, but it would only get you half of the traffic that you could have had if you had targeted and ranked well for "search engine optimization". There are also keywords that you may not be able to rank well for without a lot of time and significant amount of link building regardless of how well you optimize your site. In addition, there are keywords that other people will use to search for what your site offers that you would never even think of. So, in addition to letting you know which keywords are more popular, the research can also provide new keywords to target.

Drawing on the analogy in our search marketing parable (found on the Church Marketing Online blog), optimizing your website without first doing keyword research is like trying to pick apples from a tree without first checking to see if there are any apples on it or if the apples are within your reach. You could end up putting in a lot of effort but going home with little fruit from your labor. So it's a key component of search engine optimization.

What Do I Research?
There are two main aspects to keyword research. The first is popularity, how often are keywords actually searched for. Unfortunately, Google, Yahoo, and MSN don't share the actual number of searches for specific keywords; however, there are a few tools online which are generally thought to be pretty accurate and Google does offer a free tool that gives the "approximate" number of searches for some keywords. The keyword popularity tools (other than Google's) use the search data from a number of other smaller search engines along with a few algorithms to predict how many searches are being made for specific keywords. It's not perfect, but it gives you an idea of which keywords are most popular. Since Google's figures come from…well…Google, they are probably the most accurate, but even their figures are only estimates and I've found that many keywords return a "Not enough data" result. You may wish to use both Google and another keyword popularity tool.

The second aspect to keyword research is competition research. Competition research starts with analyzing your web pages to determine how competitive your site is both in general and for specific keywords. This is sometimes referred to as page strength. I should note that there are really two aspects to page strength, the general strength of a site and the specific strength of a page within the site. For the sake of simplicity, in this article I will use "web page" for both. The next step is to examine the keywords themselves to see how competitive they are. This is sometimes called keyword difficulty. Determining keyword difficulty is done partially by examining how competitive the pages are that rank well for this keyword, though other methods can be helpful as well. This can be tricky for two reasons.

1. No one other than that search engine designers knows how each search engine determines how competitive a site or page is and the search engine folks aren't talking.
2. Each search engine has a different way of determining how competitive a site or page is. So, even if you could figure out one, it wouldn't necessarily be so with the other search engines.

Despite these difficulties the search engines do give us some general information about what makes web pages competitive (what determines page strength). I'll look more into how you determine keyword competition in my next article.

Without good keyword research, your search engine optimization efforts will be like firing a gun into the dark. You may hit something, you may not. You may choose keywords that are not searched for or keywords that are way too competitive for your site at that time. It's best to know what you need to be targeting.

Search Engine Optimization Strategy

A well planned and well thought out search engine optimization strategy is key to running a successful search engine optimization campaign. When you are deciding what methods you want to use, you need to be sure the methods you use are tried, true, and tested. Search engine optimization strategy changes often. The biggest key to this change is based on the new rules search engines such as Google decide to change their search parameters and algorithms to. Many internet marketers often speculate about what things search engines are doing to change their policies, but in truth no one except for the search engines themselves actually know this information. This information is a trade secret and the secret is kept very tightly sealed.

There's one thing that has stayed consistently consistent (if that even makes sense). It is article marketing. Article marketing is the process of writing and submitting articles to article directories. The benefit for you and your website is high quality anchor texted backlinks. I'll talk more about this later. The benefit for the article directories is content. Article directories want good high quality content to fill their directories with. The more content they have, the more ad space they can sell. The benefit for search engines is also content. Search engines love textual content and therefore there's no better textual content like articles. The purpose of a search engine is to deliver the highest quality and most relevant content to the end user. If you are creating good high quality and relevant content in the form of articles, the search engines will index your content, rank it high in the search engines and give you backlink credit for it.

So now we are back to backlinks. If you are not familiar with backlinks, here's a brief lesson. There are two types of backlinks. You can have reciprocal links which are two-way links that link two websites together. For example, if you and another website both link back to each other, this is a reciprocal link. Search engines will give you credit for this as a backlink, but they don't particularly care for reciprocal links. Search engines much prefer one-way backlinks.

The additional benefit of article marketing is that when submitting your article to directories, the article directories allow you to place up to 3 anchor texted backlinks. If you are a smart marketer or at least have a semi-functioning brain stem, you would link back to your website with anchor texted keyword phrases for keywords you'd like to get ranked for in search engines.

This is what I do for my clients and my websites and it has proven to be very successful.

This article is only a snippet of information about search engine optimization strategy. There's much more to know about search engine optimization strategy and article marketing. If you want more information I suggest checking out the link to my site in my author bio box below. There are tons of videos proving that article marketing works as an effective search engine optimization strategy.

Is an SEO Service Important?

An SEO service is the perfect route to take your site to the number one position for any local engine search of this jungle of World Wide Web.

Since almost everyone is using more than their fair share of methods and practices to emerge as the 'Numero Uno' answer to search queries, it is important to create a separate identity for yourself. What is it all about? What do we gain from such an activity?

Businesses have longed utilized the internet as a channel for distributing their merchandise and services. Using the internet does not require the usual physical structure of an office that is capital intensive. Taking out rent or depreciation from the expenses which are necessary in maintaining an office, will profit more the organization. However, this may sound easy, but if this is not planned and implemented properly, the internet as distribution channel may not prove effective.

Revenues are produced by getting people interested to access the websites with well prepared promotions that would create the desire in these consumers to purchase. Often, it is those who already know of the existence of the products and services that purchase.

In general, the more visitors, the more revenues is expected. To maximize internet traffic, organizations tap the services of a search engine where people visit to do some research on a particular product or service they intend to avail or purchase.

To expand the exposure of a site to the fullest, the content has to be written properly incorporating relevant information and providing incoming links. Using this process which is commonly known as search engine optimization (SEO) turns writing an article into a marketing one.

The people who read these well-prepared and exhaustive articles find them valuable. When the articles are submitted to your organization with your acceptance, these articles can no longer be used in other sites by other individuals or organization. Once articles are submitted and accepted, the search for the most ideal site starts.

Most of the SEO providers, if not all, service article submission. Unfortunately, one has to take caution in choosing the right company that practice high ethical standards. Good companies disallow the practice of spam messages, plagiarism and copying of domains. You don't want to do anything of the sort. Even if they can show you results they've brought to the table for clients in the past, this is never a viable long term strategy that you can count on for achieving results for your business.

Responsible search engine providers have policies on the unacceptable practice with their corresponding punishment if individual or organization is practicing the said unacceptable practice. The good ones can easily spot these malpractices and slap penalties immediately. Penalties may mean demotion, suspension or worse, ban from the site totally. Therefore, in providing article submission service, the work has to be original and the directory provider's integrity unblemished.

How to do Keyword Optimization

Keyword Optimization

The first step in a search engine optimization campaign is to choose your keywords or keyphrases for each of your web pages. Keywords are the terms that search engine users type in the search box to conduct a query. The right keywords are those that:

clearly describe the purpose and content of your site, and,

allow your site to show up as close to the first results page as possible.

A good position doesn't depend only on your choice of keywords. It also depends on how well do you position those keywords in your web page, and how many quality external pages link to you. However, choosing the wrong keywords can throw off your entire search engine optimization strategy, so you need to invest a few hours and make sure you do it right.

Let's start with your homepage. Look at it carefully and write down the words and phrases that best define your site. Try to form two or three word phrases, since competition for one-word keyphrases is fierce, and it is virtually impossible to get a top position for them. That is why, from now on, we will talk about keyphrases, not keywords. Once you have developed your list of potential keyphrases you are ready for the next step: to analyze the demand and supply for those keyphrases, and choose the best ones (those with good demand and not enough supply).

We will first check the demand for your selected keyphrases. For this, we will go to Overture's Search Term Suggestion Tool:

Overture is a popular pay-per-click search engine. You will then type each of the keyphrases you selected, and see how many people search for those terms. This tool will show you only those searches conducted in Overture (and only in one month time). However, the relative popularity of each search term will be very similar in other search engines as well. In addition to telling you if your selected keyphrases are popular, this tool will show you other keyphrases that you may not have thought about, which may even be more relevant to your site.

For example, if your first keyphrase was "Italian Restaurant", the Search Term Suggestion Tool will also display other popular search terms, like: "Gourmet Italian Restaurant", "Northern Italian Restaurant", "Italian Restaurant Pizzeria", "Italian Restaurant Miami", etc. You may also try other keyphrases, for example: "Italian Cuisine", and come up with more specific keyphrases, like: "Fine Italian Cuisine", "Italian Cuisine Miami", "Northern Italian Cuisine", "Italian Cuisine Fine Dining", "Gourmet Italian Cuisine", etc.

What you have done is to validate and enlarge your pool of popular, in-demand, potential keyphrases for your web page. The next step is to check the supply, or, in other words, to see how much competition there is for your selected keywords. Naturally, you want to focus on keyphrases where competition is less fierce. For example, choosing "Italian Restaurant" alone will certainly hurt you. There are so many of them that your chances of showing up in an advantageous position within the search results are pretty slim.

Having said that, get your list of keyphrases, go to Google and type-in each of them in the search box. Enter your keyphrases within quotation marks (to filter-out less relevant results), and see how many results each individual query produces, making a note of those with a relatively small number of results (less competition). You will stick with the keyphrase that:

Best describes the topic and content of your page

Is a popular search term according to Overture's Search Term Suggestion Tool.

Generates a relatively small number of results after performing the Google search.

If "Gourmet Italian Restaurant" is the keyphrase that best meets these three criteria, it will become your primary keyphrase. To get even better results, you can choose a second keyphrase to make your page more relevant to an even more specific niche. For example, if your restaurant is in Miami, you can consider "Miami" a second keyphrase. Once you have chosen the keyphrases for you homepage, do the same for the other pages on your site.

After this, you will take your selected keyphrases and optimize your pages heavily for them. This involves placing them in strategic locations in the title, headings and body of each page, as we will see in Part II: Web Page Optimization.

What is Keyword optimization?

Keyword optimization

Keyword optimization, the art of choosing the correct keywords, is one of the most important things related to search engine

optimization. Sadly, it's also one of the things people tend to spend too little time on. They think up a few keywords quickly, optimize their pages a bit and then submit them to the engines. This usually results in not-so-good rankings under keywords that are poorly related to the site in question.

Before you start optimizing your site for the search engines, you should spend some time in figuring out exactly what keywords, or what keyphrases, you are going to target. Search engines are an excellent source of traffic, but in order to utilize them to their full potential, some effort is required.

What you should do is not to rush things. Sit down, open up your favorite text editor in one window and your site in another. Read through the first page of your site. When you have read it, stop to think. What is this page about? Which of the words that appear in the document describe the contents of the page accurately? What kind of words or phrases would someone use if he was using a search engine and trying to find documents like this?

When you have found the answers to these questions, write down the words and the phrases you have come up with. It doesn't matter if the list becomes too long, as you can always remove some of the excess words later.

When I do keyword optimization, I usually select one or two medium-popular keywords or phrases per page. These are my main targets, and I optimize heavily for them. Then I squeeze a few less common phrases and words into the body text, hoping that they will help the page to come up on some obscure multi-word searches. Repeat this process for every page on your site. You should be able to create an individual, distinct list of keywords for each page. The different lists should not "compete" with each other, instead each should cover different areas. This does not however mean that there shouldn't be any similarities between your lists - it's perfectly OK to have some, but the lists shouldn't be 100% identical. It is better to have 20 good listings on different search terms than 20 good listings on the same one.

So, now you have your lists ready. The next thing would be to go to Overture's (GoTo) keyword suggestion tool and type in the different keywords and phrases you've come up with. The tool will tell you how many times each keyword and each phrase was searched at Overture during the last month. It won't tell you exactly how popular different words are, since the statistics contain only the searches executed at Overture, but it will give you a general idea.

Because Overture's data is not always 100% accurate, you may also want to visit Word Tracker. The service is not free, but the trial option offers a chance to search for good keywords without having to pay a dime. By using both Overture and WordTracker and comparing what they think about the popularity of different keywords, you should be able to separate the words people search for from those that are rarely used.

If some of the words you were planning to select aren't commonly used in searches, you might want to consider dropping them from your list. If other words look like they are used quite a lot, then it might be a good idea to consider adding them. But remember to...

Keep the search engine optimization process in mind!

By now, your list is probably pretty full of very competitive, single-word terms such as "MP3" or "books" or "computers" or whatever. Scratch them. This might sound harsh, but if you're a novice, you have no chance of achieving a top listing under such terms. Even many (dare I say most) professionals tend to avoid them, as they are extremely competitive. There are hundreds of thousands of sites targeting them and even with excellent search engine optimization skills, they are very tough to conquer. What you should do is to narrow it down a little.

Think about different variations of these popular keywords. If you were originally thinking about the keyword "books", how about "buy used books online" or "antique bookstore"? These terms would be, not easy, but easier to rank well under. It is far better to be in the top 10 for a search term with medium usage than to rank 500th for a heavily used term. Select keyphrases that do get searched, but that aren't too competitive.

You might also want to target common misspellings, if some of the keywords related to your site are often spelled wrong . Unfortunately, it is hard to efficiently target misspellings without damaging the authority of your site. Would you buy anything from a person that can't even spell the name of his merchandise? Didn't think so.. So, be careful with those misspellings.

At this point, you should have completed your keyword optimization process and now possess a pretty good list of medium-popularity keyword phrases for each of your pages. I would recommend that you read the search engine optimization article on this site next. It will show you where you should place the keywords you have selected in order to achieve results with the search engines.

What is SEO?

Website Optimization is a complex issue, but should be known by every entrepreneur who wants to succeed on the Internet.

According to the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, optimize is finding the best way to perform an activity. Therefore, optimization of your website would make it comply with the best possible with each of its functions.

Recall that if a site is designed only to achieve success in the Search Engines, better known as search engines will not be successful with users as the machines do not buy, not sell it. If, however, is intended only for individuals, difficult to achieve a good positioning in search engines and users will not find, therefore, not sell. In conclusion, a successful web site must comply with both their functions inevitably related to Search Engines such as those associated with the usability by site visitors.

We have said that anyone wishing to succeed in the Internet market should make a website that is a true "virtual branch." That is, this should be an extension of your company and operate as a local online. For this, the site must achieve the objectives for which it was created, must be compatible with the principles and policies of the Company, be functional and actually transmit useful information to its users.

In order to reach a site that complies with the characteristics listed above, you must have the help of a Web Optimizer you know how that site should work and how to achieve it.
